Of course sound is important. Let’s talk about why which sounds.

Object authenticity.

If a product is made of certain elements, then use those elements or parts to be the instrumentation of the UI sound design. This is a huge opportunity for meaningful use of sound that has a cohesive set of sounds set in one world.

Inspiration authenticity.

If a brand is inspired by elements, genres, V10 combustion engines, or the heart, then its sonic language should also align with this. Ultimately, if the brand/product inspiration is a thing, inspiration can make a sound. This type of sonic inspiration can be the sonic language you use everywhere; all coming from the same sonic world or brand orchestra.
